Class 4 & 7 MOT Tester needed for the Bedford workshop. Must be willing and able to conduct basic servicing and repairs between MOT testing. Will be working on our brand new pitlane for ease of testing and inspection. 

Salary: £35k per annum

Working Hours: 5 full days and Saturday AM only

Qualifications and Requirements: Must have a current testers qualification for classes 4 and 7.  Must have a can-do attitude. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks. Must have good communication skills and high standards. Experience in using a pitlane for testing would be beneficial.

Car and Van Mechanic needed for our busy Bedford workshop. Must be qualified to a minimum of a Level 3 IMI with experience in Light Commercial Vehicles. Individuals will be required to MOT prep, repair and service vehicles, as well as to conduct clutch replacements on fleet vehicles. 

Salary: £32k per annum

Qualifications and Requirements: Must be qualified to a minimum of a Level 3 IMI with experience in Light Commercial Vehicles. Must have a can-do attitude. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks. Must have good communication skills and high standards. 

Mobile Car and Van Mechanic needed for the Bedford area. The individual will be required to get vehicles up and running at the roadside, repair basic defects and conduct routine servicing. Vans will operate daily in a 50 mile radius around Bedford.  

Salary: £33k per annum plus bonus/callout OTE £55k

Qualifications and Requirements: No qualifications are required but a good, broad range of experience with fleet repair and servicing, preferably on a mobile basis needed. Suitable for applicants with breakdown and recovery experience as this role prioritises getting vehicles running safely from the roadside. Applicants must be aged 23 or over for insurance purposes.  Must have a can-do attitude. Must have the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks. Must have good communication skills and high standard.

Vans will operate daily in a 50 mile radius around specific area. No qualifications are required, but a good broad range of experience with fleet repair and servicing, preferably on a mobile basis. Breakdown and recovery experience would be beneficial. Applicants must be aged 23 or over for insurance purposes.

Location: BEDFORD, MK42

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Breakdown & Recovery Control Room Operator to join a well-established vehicle maintenance provider, in providing a nationwide Breakdown & Recovery business to fleet customers. Based in Bedford the successful applicant will join a team of hardworking and dedicated people offering assistance to customers who have broken down by the roadside.

Duties include:

• Working on the telephone, receiving calls from customers including the ambulance service, fleet customers, and other maintenance providers (business to business only)
• Prioritising jobs and dispatching resources to attend roadside and recovery incidents throughout the local area and across the UK.
• Working with other companies to ensure that all aspects of the job are completed efficiently whilst ensuring the customers and roadside staff are kept safe.
• Other duties include: cash handling, processing card payments, raising invoices, conducting audits and producing reports, as well as, some ad hoc Admin tasks where required.

Note: the control room operates 24/7 and the environment can be fast moving and very busy.

Salary: £12.00 per hour 

Shift & Hours Available: 4 on / 4 off roster; includes days, nights and weekends as part of a rolling roster.

Between 10-12 hours per shift. Start times to be confirmed

There is plenty of overtime available to help cover staff absence and holidays.

Experience & Skills: Applicants MUST have the following skills and experience:

• Ideally, have previous experience working in a similar environment and use the Apex computer system. Otherwise having worked in a call-handling / help desk role handling large volumes of calls and despatching work to external resources.
• Able to work on their own initiative and take charge of the situation; managing the job from initial contact to completion
• Prioritise workloads in a pressurised and fast-moving environment
• Superb telephone, administrative, organisational and IT skills
• Calm and professional approach
• Proven track record dealing with customers at all levels
• Excellent local knowledge of the local area and good national geographic knowledge
• Ability to empathise and understand that there is never a good time to break down and work to GDPR, confidentiality and Covid protocols.
• Be prepared to muck in when required and cover other job roles including administration.
• Experience of the breakdown & recovery or automotive industries is an advantage but not essential.

Training: Training will be given as part of an induction program and additional systems training.
